ELECTRICITY TARIFF HIKE ANNOUNCED BY THE MINISTRY OF NATURAL RESOURCES, ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE

Following the recent electricity tariff adjustment announcement made by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change (“NRECC”), EVERWORKS IDC SDN BHD expects an average increase of about 30% in electricity cost.
We will soon share with you on the updated pricing, and additional surcharges (if any) once we have finalized the amount in your next invoice from us.
Suruhanjaya Tenaga has revised the Imbalance Cost Pass-Through (ICPT) rate from surcharge RM0.037 to surcharge RM 0.20 starting from 1st Jan 2023. The implementation of ICPT, which occurs every 6 months, would reflect the actual costs in tariff in the form of rebate or surcharge. Unfortunately, the ICPT was increased in February 2022 and again recently in January 2023. This recent significant hike in electricity tariff has put EVERWORKS IDC SDN BHD in a difficult position to maintain operating costs. After careful consideration and evaluation, the management has decided to impart the ICPT surcharge to customers. We will be revising our package as well as power consumption unit rate to reflect in this cost change. Your kind understanding on this matter is much appreciated.
